Mya Cavner is a movement artist, curator, and 1/2 of Ballet for Non-Dancers. She also runs Movement at SET, which are open level dance sessions every other Sunday in Peckham.

Ballet for Non-Dancers is a collaboration by South-London based artist duo Edith Liben and Mya Cavner recontextualising who can call themselves a dancer through performance, workshops, and text.

Ballet for Non-Dancers invites you to explore the art of seduction. In this workshop we will explore using intentional movement to explore how to be present in our bodies and what it means to share that with others. Through collective and solo tasks, dancers are offered the space to reconnect with their inner sensuality and redefine what ‘sexy’ is to them.

Expect hip swaying, mental stimulation, body rolling, hairography and much much more; we’ll work through all parts of our body - finding comfort through vulnerability in our skin.

Heels, leg warmers, leos, lace, & spandex are more than welcome! Come ready to strut your legs and stretch your minds…

This workshop is part of a series curated by the artist Mica Georgis as part of a Residency at The Writers’ Room, Florence Trust in April 2026.

The workshops are open to dancers and non-dancers. No previous dance experience is necessary.

N.B The venue is not accessible, the studio is up two flights of stairs.
