“National Treasures”
Eleanor is a London-based writer and co-editor of ALICE, a journal of poetry and the unconscious. She is the author of The Hairy Manifesto, as well as the chapbooks The Submissive and Half-Life, and was awarded the Sheila Templeton Memorial Award for Poetry. Her work concerns love and its destinations, and the unconscious speaking lyric. She works at Brixton Prison and adores Josef Pilates.

THE CALL CENTRE is a performance programme dedicated to the voice and the unspeakable. Each month (August - November) I invite contemporary artists and writers that I am obsessed with to share a new work. In this season, each event will be hosted in another artist’s studio, after gallery opening hours or in a cute little cubby of an art space — it’s iconic (can’t lie). This year in particular I’m thinking that,
“when life gives you lemons, pop them in your studio and wait for the rats to cause your ceiling to smash them which will inevitably create lemonade that you can’t drink (because it’s unsafe) but you can make art about the experience.”

As always, it’s for those of us who freeze in crisis, and a gentle reminder to get unstuck.
