Rhythm Race Revolution is an 8-week course with Aditi Jaganathan that uses music and its attendant cultural texts, as a site of deep study, through which ideas of race, gender, colonialism, healing and transformative justice are collectively explored. It is a radical learning space tracing the sonic(s) of resistance.
Session 3: Journeying the pluriverse with(in) Alice Coltrane
In this session we will traverse with and through the spiritual memory of Alice Coltrane, sedimented in the capacious archive of her music. We will dance in the liminality of her search for nirvana, and her deep yearning for collective spiritual transcendence. Journeying with her artistry we will tease out the mellifluous threads in her self-determined tapestry of liberation.
