Father of Lies by Folu Odimayo

Father of Lies is a film and performance based installation created by Filmmaker and artist Folu Odimayo.  The work takes a look at the mainstream media and it’s role within the facilitation of the Genocides particularly in regards to Palestine; it’s enabling of war and conflicts across the last century as well as it’s position in creating divisions within society. Explored within a sound collage that oscillates between archival news, political soundbites from now up till the 1930s as well as a conversation between a journalist and a newspaper editor about journalistic impartiality. The work looks at unravelling the threads of what the news has become, who it truly serves and whose voice it really speaks to and from.
