DANCE NOT DANCE: where the body dissolves and movement persists

DANCE NOT DANCE imagines and portrays what choreography looks like both with
and without dancers: when movement is spoken, heard, and imagined rather than
seen. Through percussion, dance, voice, text, and electronic sound, the work unfolds
as a layered environment in which the audience and their individual experience
becomes the eventual site of the dance.
Featuring The Drum Also Dances (Freddie Krone, drums and Zac Priestley, dance)
and Breath Quartet (Marcus Herne and Margot Wilson), the evening moves between
embodied rhythm, disembodied choreography, and live improvisation. The two
groups will come together for a collaborative piece at the end of the evening.
